What information do we collect?

We collect the email address and name you provide at registration, the documents you upload, and basic usage data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited. We do not collect data from you that is not strictly required to provide our service.

How do we use your information?

Your account information is used to authenticate you and personalize the service. Your documents are processed by Anthropic's Claude API to generate AI analysis. Usage data is used to monitor service performance and prevent abuse.

How are documents stored and shared?

Documents are stored privately under your account and are accessible only to you. We never share, sell, or expose your documents to third parties. Documents are not used to train AI models. Documents are automatically deleted from our servers 30 days after upload unless you archive them.

Cookies and tracking

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in, and localStorage to remember your cookie consent choice. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. We may add Google Analytics in the future, in which case this policy will be updated.

Third-party services

We use these processors to provide our service: Anthropic (AI analysis), Stripe (payments), and PHPMailer/SMTP (transactional email). Each is bound by their own privacy and security obligations.

Your rights

You have the right to access, export, or delete your data at any time. Email us at support@hidocument.com with any request and we'll respond within 30 days.

Security

We use bcrypt password hashing, CSRF tokens, HTTPS encryption in transit, secure session cookies, prepared statements on every database query, and rate limiting on authentication endpoints. We follow OWASP Top 10 security best practices.

Children's privacy

HiDocument is not directed at children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us immediately and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Significant changes will be communicated via email.
